Lions Club Since 1917, Lions Clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind, Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community.

Kiwanis International Founded in 1915 and headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kiwanis International is a thriving organization of service- and community-minded individuals who support children and young adults around the world.

Kiwanis meet weekly at the Carriage House (the restaurant at the Belvedere Golf Club) on Thursday mornings at 7:30 am.  Please join us for a meeting, meet new friends and neighbors and join us in community projects. For more information, please call 270-2145.

Rotary International The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Knights of Columbus Knights of Columbus - working to fulfill the central mission of the Order: striving in charitable works; serving the Church and unified in following its teachings; supporting brother Knights in their temporal and spiritual needs; acting for the good of their country; and giving aid to widows, orphans, the sick and the poor.

American Legion

American Legion Post 167. The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization. The American Legion focuses a great part of its efforts in helping the community through fundraising programs, educational activities, library and museum services, and many others. Visit this section and get involved in the numerous activities and programs that the Legion offers.

USCG Auxiliary - Hampstead Flotilla dot.gif (1865 bytes) USCG Auxiliary, Hampstead Flotilla - serves the communities of Hampstead, Scotts Hill and the Topsail Island area. Flotilla 10-09 is responsible for runs along the Intercoastal Waterway from the Figure 8 Island Bridge to the Surf City Bridge. The flotilla carries out all the functions required for maintaining boating safety, supporting the local Coast Guard unit at Wrightsville Beach, educating the public and providing environmental protection of our waterways. Contact Charles E. I'm sure that for many children, the first opportunity to do things for their local community may come from scouting projects.

There is plenty of need for adult participation in scouting programs - not necessarily troop leaders.

There are too many in our area to list with accuracy and there is much overlap of local units and their service area.

All the scouting organizations have outreach programs active in area schools and churches.
