Sloop Point Volunteer Fire Department - All-volunteer fire department. The current roster has about 30 personnel, and they are taking applications for more. The Sloop Point Volunteer Fire Department responded to about 120 calls in the last 12 months, everything from fires, emergency rescue services - even a 'cat up the tree' emergency. Like many of the emergency service providers across the country, SPVFD is receiving grant money, equipment and training to help in the 'War Against Terrorism' from the Department of Homeland Security, and SBI. SPVFD is planning their Cadet Program to encourage young participation in this community effort. |

Pender County Sheriff - While the county sheriff's office is in Burgaw, we do have a presence here in Hampstead. There's a small office on Transfer Station Road used from time to time by the deputies to do paperwork and reports. Patrol cars are often seen about the area. |
