"A hundred years form now it will not matter what my bank account
was, - paraphrased from an essay by Forest Witcraft, "Within My Power" You've come to the right place "When adults take time to help young people through 4-H, they exert an enormous positive influence on the lives of youth," Retired General Colin Powell. In 4-H, kids and adults spend time together, learning new skills, developing hidden talents, making new friends and having other fun. The goal of 4-H is to help kids develop as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens in their communities. Adult volunteers who spend time with 4-H kids are key to this process. They form the foundation on which productive citizens are made. Flexibility to fit your interests Do you like birdwatching, cooking, gardening or working with animals? There are many interesting projects and fun things to do as part of 4-H. It's not just a program for farm kids. Here's how you can get involved Do you know someone in 4-H? Ask him or her what they do, and how you might fit in. Whether you want to be a club leader or work with kids on a short-term project, there's a role for you in 4-H. Provide guidance to a club's officers, who are all youth members, serve as a mentor for older teens who are ready to assume a leadership role as an activity leader, be a guest speaker to share your knowledge about a subject of interest, help prepare presentations, and more . . . 4-H Clubs in Pender County: Horses R' Us 4-H Club - 2nd and 4th
